We’re Seeking a Diabetic Retinal Screener

We have a Diabetic Retinal Screener vacancy available if you would like to join the Health Intelligence team based in Chelmsford.

Diabetic Retinal Screener

A Retinal Screener is required for the East Anglia Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Programme to join a team to provide eye screening to patients with diabetes within the Chelmsford area.

The normal working day will be spent in this area but occasionally there will be a requirement to travel to the base at the headquarters in Bury St Edmunds.

Experience in ophthalmic photography, digital imaging and computer skills would be an advantage but certainly not essential as full training will be given where necessary.  A driving license is required as the Service travels to fixed locations where the tests are performed.  Previous healthcare experience is an advantage as is an ability to interact with patients and medical staff at all levels.  There will be a six month probationary period for the successful applicant.  The successful applicant will be required to complete a City & Guilds NVQ level 3 qualification, full training, mentoring and assessing will be provided.
